Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Miro Lightning!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pennington shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lightning defends it nicely.
Pennington throws a sloppy head kick
and Lightning counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Pennington gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Lightning is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Lightning wants to break free but Pennington has control.
Pennington is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lightning gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Pennington struggles to land a body shot inside as Lightning controls his hands.
Lightning lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Pennington can't get the takedown.

Pennington has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lightning avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Pennington thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lightning's head.

Lightning closes the distance and clinches up with Pennington, looking for a takedown. Lightning pushes Pennington against the cage but Pennington circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Pennington is working for takedown but Lightning is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pennington goes for a takedown attempt but Lightning pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pennington walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Lightning fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miro Lightning showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Pennington's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Lightning moves into the clinch successfully.
Pennington has Lightning pressed against the cage, preventing Lightning from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Come on Pennington - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Pennington's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Pennington has Lightning pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Lightning manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Pennington throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Lightning wants to break the clinch but can't.

Pennington swings for the body but Lightning moves out of range.
Lightning ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

and Lightning counters with a nice uppercut.
Pennington throws a right and a left that both miss.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nice straight punches there by Lightning. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Lightning.

and Lightning counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lightning postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lightning stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Pennington is looking to clinch but Lightning is avoiding it.
Lightning moves in looking to clinch but Pennington pushes him off.
Lightning wants to clinch.
Lightning tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pennington is able to avoid easily.
Pennington shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lightning sprawls well. Lightning wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pennington gets slowly back to his feet.

Nice uppercut lands for Lightning. That snapped Pennington's head back.
Lightning is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Miro Lightning comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Lightning has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
