Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominic Robillard! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robillard closes the distance but Sanchez moves to the side and Sanchez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sanchez. Sanchez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Robillard is keeping busy. Sanchez changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Robillard fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Robillard lands a big head kick that sends Sanchez tumbling to the mat! Robillard takes a step backwards and waves Sanchez back to his feet - he wants the finish! This has been an exciting period of action! Robillard tries to clinch up. Sanchez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Robillard moves out of range of the body kick. Robillard fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sanchez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Robillard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Robillard rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Robillard lands a nice elbow. Robillard lands an elbow inside that Sanchez shrugs off. Sanchez takes an elbow to the temple.
Sanchez is rocked!
It looks like Tony Sanchez has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Come on Robillard - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Sanchez blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Sanchez avoids a wild elbow strike from Robillard. Robillard lands a damaging elbow. Robillard misses with a knee to the head. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Robillard just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sanchez's brow. Robillard lands an elbow inside that Sanchez shrugs off. Sanchez fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sanchez working hard to break the clinch. Robillard lands a damaging elbow. Sanchez decides to pull guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Sanchez has control of Robillard's left arm, preventing Robillard from doing any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez looking for a triangle here. Robillard is fighting it but it looks tight! Sanchez pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Robillard is tapping out - this one is all over!
