Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Hale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Nigel York! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Richard Clark and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hale rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and York counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by York. York manages to break the clinch.
York shoots in but Hale avoids the takedown attempt easily. Hale tries to clinch up but York circles away and keeps his distance. York shoots in for a takedown but Hale shows good takedown defense. York shoots for a takedown but Hale saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Stephen Hale has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nigel York. Hale wants to slow York down by chopping away at his legs. Hale fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hale fails to land with a series of punches.
York swats away the attempt to clinch by Hale. York shoots in but no luck this time. York takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
That's one minute gone in the round. York closes the distance and clinches up with Hale, looking for a takedown. York pushes Hale against the cage but Hale circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hale throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. A combination from Hale does no damage. York blocks a head kick by Hale.
Hale has managed to clinch.
York is trying to drag Hale to the mat but Hale just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Hale has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed York clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! York trying to control the hands but Hale won't let him. Hale has his arm under York's chin here. Game over son! Hale squeezes tightly and York is forced to tap out!
