Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bogie McGill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takanori Sakurai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakurai has chosen number girl syndrome as his entrance music. Takanori Sakurai will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bogie McGill! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takanori Sakurai ! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGill shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Sakurai wants to clinch. Sakurai showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from McGill.
McGill shoots for a double leg takedown but Sakurai sprawls well. He's pushed McGill's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Sakurai . Sakurai sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but McGill is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Sakurai wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by McGill, who protects the arm well. Sakurai tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Sakurai is looking to take a break and control but McGill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sakurai tries to advance to mount but McGill denies him. Sakurai is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McGill knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Sakurai postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sakurai tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Sakurai misses with the ground and pound. McGill is looking to regain half guard here but Sakurai keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Sakurai moves into range and clinches up with McGill. McGill tries a knee to the head but Sakurai blocks it.
Sakurai fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Sakurai pulls guard effortlessly. Sakurai trying to keep a closed guard but McGill is proving a slippery customer.
Sakurai throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! McGill escapes and throws Sakurai 's legs to the side, diving into side control! Sakurai looks gassed! Sakurai misses with an elbow from the bottom. McGill controlling from side mount. Sakurai is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGill tries for a kimura but Sakurai is defending well. McGill tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Sakurai is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Sakurai tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Sakurai actively working from the bottom here. McGill wants to pass the guard but Sakurai is defending well. Sakurai is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but McGill pulls his head out easily. Sakurai slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. McGill trying to control the position from guard on top but Sakurai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sakurai had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McGill is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sakurai Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McGill's back instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Takanori Sakurai dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Sakurai tries to clinch but McGill is having none of it. Sakurai throws a head kick that misses. McGill shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than McGill was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Sakurai is looking to get to half guard. McGill manages to capitalize on a mistake by Sakurai to take his back! Sakurai wants to escape the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. McGill controls the action. McGill sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Sakurai taps out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Bogie McGill!
