Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paso Leati (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Fuko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paso Leati!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Fuko!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuko misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Leati.
Leati lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Fuko just misses with a punch to the body.

Fuko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Leati manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Leati keeping full guard, as Fuko tries to pass.
Fuko controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Fuko is pushing down on Leati's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leati is fighting to maintain full guard but Fuko has managed to sneak the leg through.
Fuko is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Leati wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Fuko trying to pass the guard but Leati defending well.
Fuko is keen to just control but Leati is a slippery customer.

Fuko looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fuko uses his free foot to push down on Leati's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Leati.
Leati is in all sorts of trouble here.
Fuko scores with a couple of good head shots there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Leati is trying to escape the mount.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Fuko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fuko's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Fuko goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Leati turns into him and now he's in Fuko's guard.

Fuko has an active guard here but Leati has managed to pass into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leati looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Leati is working for a submission of some sort.
Leati is looking to take a break and control but Fuko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fuko is looking for a sweep. Leati is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Leati frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Fuko sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Fuko is pressing down on Leati's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fuko keeping moving, preventing Leati from controlling successfully.

Fuko working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Leati doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Leati manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Fuko pulls Leati in close to prevent any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Leati would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Leati wants to control from the top but Fuko keeps moving.
Leati has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Fuko is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fuko wants to pass the guard but Leati is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Fuko dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Leati lands with a nice body punch.
Leati misses with a takedown attempt

and Fuko counters with a nice double leg into side control. Leati won't be happy with that.

Michael Fuko has got the better of the ground game so far.

Fuko has an Americana. Leati didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Fuko is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Fuko hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Michael Fuko!
