Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jonas Emmanuel Estrada! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Juan Stallion! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Jeff Smith and Paul Gruel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stallion throws a low kick, looking for Estrada's leg but Estrada calmly moves out of range. Estrada feints and as Stallion raises his hands in defense, Estrada changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Stallion is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Estrada is controlling him. Stallion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Estrada. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Estrada slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Estrada tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Stallion pushes Estrada away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Estrada gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Estrada is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stallion is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Estrada is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Stallion knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Estrada tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stallion is trying to buck Estrada off. Stallion looks winded! Estrada is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Stallion looks calm but he's in trouble here. Estrada gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Stallion is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Estrada lets go of the hold and Stallion can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jonas Emmanuel Estrada!
