Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heddy Lamaar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lewis Tsushima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Heddy Lamaar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lewis Tsushima! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck for Lamaar with that takedown attempt. Tsushima misses with a straight right. Lamaar shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Lamaar showed some decent athleticism there. Lamaar wants to control but Tsushima is keeping him busy. Lamaar thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tsushima's head. Tsushima punching from the bottom.
Tsushima has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Lamaar is thwarting Tsushima's attempts to control the position. Lamaar keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Tsushima taking some punishment here, with Lamaar in his half guard. Tsushima tries to roll over but Lamaar keeps him under control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Tsushima takes a swing at Lamaar's ribcage but misses. A jab from Tsushima misses. Tsushima looks to land a combination. Lamaar sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Tsushima pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Tsushima misses with a series of wild punches.
Lamaar shoots in but Tsushima avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lamaar is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Lamaar staying out of range there. Lamaar could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Tsushima swings for the body but Lamaar moves out of range.
Lamaar drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Lamaar won't allow Tsushima to sweep him here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lamaar with a nice head shot there. Tsushima manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lamaar manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Tsushima pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Lamaar is keeping the position for now. Tsushima is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Lamaar trying to keep a closed guard but Tsushima is proving a slippery customer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Lamaar gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tsushima throws a series of punches but Lamaar avoids them all with ease. Lamaar moves in looking to clinch but Tsushima pushes him off. Lamaar is looking to clinch. Lamaar scores with a takedown into Tsushima's guard. Lamaar preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lewis Tsushima will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Lamaar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tsushima. Lamaar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tsushima tries to avoid it but Lamaar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tsushima to the ground. Tsushima escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Lamaar tries to clinch but Tsushima moves out of range. Tsushima misses with a wild combination.
Lamaar closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lamaar lands in his opponent's guard. Lamaar postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tsushima utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Tsushima manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Lamaar is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Tsushima avoids the attempt from Lamaar to control. Tsushima prevents Lamaar from getting the reversal. Tsushima landing strikes from the mount. Lamaar wants to control but Tsushima is having none of it. Lamaar is trying to escape the mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Tsushima scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Lamaar?

That's two minutes gone in the round. Lamaar is desperately trying to improve his position but Tsushima has a good base and remains in mount. Tsushima is in the full mount, landing strikes. Lamaar is trying desperately to improve position. Tsushima lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Lamaar on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Lamaar tries to get out of the position. Tsushima can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lamaar is looking to escape. Lamaar working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Tsushima cracks Lamaar with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Lamaar is looking to get to half guard. Lamaar is working hard here to advance position. Tsushima with the ground and pound from mount. A nice elbow there by Tsushima. Tsushima postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lamaar looks a forlorn figure.

Lamaar is rocked! Tsushima has control of Lamaar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lamaar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

A nice elbow there by Tsushima. Tsushima scoring with strikes but Lamaar is staying in there. Oh Lamaar is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Tsushima raining down shots from the mount! Lamaar is squirming around, avoiding Tsushima's attempts to control the action. Tsushima lands a big shot to the head and Lamaar winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
