Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Pablo El Ferdorito!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jacob Williams!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Josh West and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
El Ferdorito fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.
El Ferdorito stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and El Ferdorito wants it to stay on the feet.
El Ferdorito fails with an attempt to clinch.
El Ferdorito tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten El Ferdorito somewhat.

Williams looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
El Ferdorito is trying to keep Williams in close.
El Ferdorito looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
El Ferdorito has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Williams showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
El Ferdorito wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

We're going to have a standup here because Pablo El Ferdorito wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Williams throws a head kick that misses.
El Ferdorito throws a sloppy head kick and Williams moves out of range easily.

El Ferdorito gets in close and instigates a clinch.

El Ferdorito breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
El Ferdorito misses with a takedown attempt

and Williams counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pablo El Ferdorito. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. El Ferdorito swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Williams should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Williams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as El Ferdorito works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

El Ferdorito escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Williams gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
El Ferdorito is breathing heavily.
Williams passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Williams misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
El Ferdorito is looking to reverse the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Williams wants to lay and pray for a moment but El Ferdorito keeps working.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Williams lands some shots froms side control.

Williams has hold of El Ferdorito's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! El Ferdorito tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Williams cranks the arm and El Ferdorito screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from El Ferdorito, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jacob Williams!
