And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Santis shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Vita counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Santis's guard now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Santis throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Vita trying to control the position from guard on top but Santis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Vita stands up over Santis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Santis manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Vita is looking to get to half guard.

Santis jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vita is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vita and Santis has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Santis taking a break here but Vita is having none of it and regains half guard.
Santis passes to full mount!
Vita prevents any damage by holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Santis goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vita is on top in guard.
Vita is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Vita is working Santis over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
It looks like Filipe Santis has been cut.

Vita keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Santis's head.

Vita cracks Santis with a solid left hand.
Santis is rocked!
Santis is breathing heavily.
Vita arches his back and unloads with a massive left and a right! Santis's eyes roll back into his head, he's out cold! The ref dives in to stop the fight - wow, they were hard shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Joe Vita!
A very excited looking Joe Vita made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
