And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marcel Martel!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Steve Smith and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benji moves in looking to clinch but Martel pushes him off.
Benji tries to clinch there but Martel circles away.

Nice takedown defense from Benji. No joy for Martel on that attempt.

Martel ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Martel no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

No joy there for Benji, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Martel shoots in but no luck this time.
Martel avoids the head kick by Benji.
Benji defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Martel.

Benji throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Martel was covering up waiting for the punch and Benji finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Martel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Martel really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Benji. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Benji feints a jab promting Martel to slip. Benji then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Martel slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Martel tries to clinch but Benji moves out of range.
Martel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Benji tries to avoid it but Martel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Benji to the ground. Benji escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Killer Benji.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Benji, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Killer Benji was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
