Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Denny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Denny Smith has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Denny Smith seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Denny Smith! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Heath! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith gets caught flat footed, as Heath shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Smith looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Heath trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smith is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Heath tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard. Smith wants to stand up but Heath is controlling him. Smith keeping full guard, as Heath tries to pass. Smith wants to sweep here but Heath controlling him for the moment. Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Heath advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Heath is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Heath is looking for a kimura here.

Heath has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Heath wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. Smith wants to hold on but Heath pushes him away. Smith is trying desperately to improve position. Heath wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Heath jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Smith manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Smith pushes Heath away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Heath gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Heath tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Heath has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Heath prevents Smith from escaping the position. Smith is breathing heavily. Heath is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smith is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Smith stops Heath from passing to mount. Smith tries to buck Heath off but Heath is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heath wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Smith, who protects the arm well. Heath tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Heath has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! You can see the frustration on Smith's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Smith is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Heath off and has taken his back! Heath tries to break free.

Smith throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Heath tries to escape the position.
Heath is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Heath rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Smith stalling.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Heath shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Smith closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Tyler Heath dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Heath darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Smith keeping control of the position. Smith striking from half guard on the bottom. Smith is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Heath's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Heath's back! A lull in the action here.

Smith is looking for the choke from the back position but Heath is controlling his hands well. Heath prevents Smith from getting a body triangle. Smith is trying to stick to Heath's back but Heath is turning into Smith. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smith's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Heath. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Heath wants to pass the guard but Smith is keeping the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Heath shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Heath showed some decent athleticism there. Smith is looking to improve his position.
Heath is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now. Heath is looking for a kimura but Smith is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Heath to get the leverage. Heath is working for a kimura but Smith is defending it quite comfortably.
Smith makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Smith.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Heath gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Heath sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Smith's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Heath looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Heath is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Smith doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Heath. Heath is thwarting Smith's attempts to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Heath looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Heath seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Smith is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
