The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Lowley lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Simmons backs up against the cage.
Lowley throws a hook but Simmons blocks it.
Lowley throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Simmons works Lowley's body with a nice hook.
Lowley dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Nice shot lands for Lowley.
Lowley misses with the combination.
Simmons throws a shot from downtown. Lowley moves away and avoids it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Lowley uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Simmons.

Simmons will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Simmons takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Lowley takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like Joe Lowley has been cut.
Simmons stalks Lowley and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lowley's face. Lowley staggers backwards, shaken.

A looping hook to the body misses from Simmons. Lowley does a little dance to reset his feet.
Simmons throws a right and a left that Lowley avoids nicely.
Lowley is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Simmons throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lowley connects with a crisp jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nice uppercut lands for Simmons. That snapped Lowley's head back.
Simmons slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Simmons pounces like a tiger and cracks Lowley with a vicious hook! Lowley is down but not out! Simmons follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Manny Simmons tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
