Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Auto Pilot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Pip Gonzalez!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez misses with a right hand

and Pilot counters by clinching up.

Pilot breaks from the clinch.
Pilot keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Gonzalez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pilot sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gonzalez somewhat.
Gonzalez swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Pilot.
Pilot walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pilot comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Pilot tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gonzalez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Gonzalez connects with a nice short shot to Pilot's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gonzalez throwing shots but Pilot is blocking nicely.
Gonzalez thows a huge punch but Pilot dodges it nicely.

Gonzalez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pilot with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gonzalez is looking to take a break and control but Pilot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Gonzalez looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Gonzalez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pilot does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gonzalez slips a nice elbow through Pilot's hands, connecting with Pilot's forehead.
Gonzalez is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Pilot has hold of Gonzalez's hands but Gonzalez slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Pilot escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gonzalez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pilot digs a right hand underneath Gonzalez's ribcage. Gonzalez let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Pilot does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Pilot has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pilot there as he acknowledges the shot.
Gonzalez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Auto Pilot.
I think Gonzalez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
