Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kong King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenji Matsushita (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kong King! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kenji Matsushita! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. King avoids the head kick by Matsushita.
Matsushita tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Matsushita just misses with a punch to the body.
Matsushita pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Matsushita fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. King looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. King closes the distance and clinches up with Matsushita, looking for a takedown. King pushes Matsushita against the cage but Matsushita circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Kenji Matsushita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. King shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kong King. That's going to take a lot out of him. Matsushita just misses with a punch to the body.
Matsushita pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. King slips a jab from Matsushita. Matsushita cracks the inside of King's front leg. King takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. King on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Matsushita. Matsushita obviously looking to wear him down.
King has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Matsushita. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Matsushita scores with a leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Matsushita misses with a head kick.
King fails with the takedown and Matsushita counters with a straight right hand. King tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him. King tries to score a power double leg takedown but Matsushita sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten King somewhat. King slaps away a takedown attempt from Matsushita, before circling back to the center of the mat. Matsushita scores with a leg kick.
Matsushita fails with the takedown. Horrible takedown by King or perhaps it was just good defense by Matsushita which made him look bad. Matsushita misses with a low kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. King checks a low kick from Matsushita. King moves out of range of the leg kick from Matsushita. King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Matsushita swivels and escapes. King shoots in but no luck this time. Matsushita misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from King.
Matsushita lands with a cross. King takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Matsushita throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. King takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
A good leg kick by Matsushita. King fails to land the takedown. Matsushita thows a body shot but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King blocks a low kick nicely. King on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
King shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Matsushita thumps King with a low kick. Matsushita tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Matsushita is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down King rather than just go for the knockout. Matsushita misses with a hook
and King counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Matsushita! King advances nicely into full mount. Matsushita is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! King takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Matsushita gets back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Matsushita defends it well. King stalling. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Matsushita is trying to maintain the position but King is very close to passing his half guard. King controlling the action here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Matsushita dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Matsushita misses with a low kick. Matsushita shoots in but King avoids the takedown attempt easily. King fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Matsushita scores with a jab to the jaw. King dives in and grabs Matsushita's left leg, looking for a takedown. Matsushita pushes down on King's head and hops out. A solid leg kick lands there for Matsushita.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from King. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kong King. That's going to take a lot out of him. King shoots in looking for a takedown. Matsushita tries to sprawl out of it but King keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Matsushita manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. King showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Matsushita.
That's one minute gone in the round. King fails to land the takedown. Matsushita closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming King to the mat! King manages to get full guard. Matsushita not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. King keeping moving, preventing Matsushita from controlling successfully. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Kenji Matsushita was stalling too much, according to the referee. King misses with a takedown and Matsushita counters with a nice low kick that buckles King's knee momentarily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Matsushita feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to King's calf. Matsushita scoring well with a low kick there.
Matsushita bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. King looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Kenji Matsushita seems to be getting the better of the standup. Matsushita throws a leg kick but King moved away. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! A leg kick checked by King. A swing and a miss from Matsushita. Matsushita fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. King sprawls well initially but Matsushita persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Matsushita is looking to take a break and control but King is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Matsushita is taking a breather. King says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kenji Matsushita has got the better of the ground game so far. King looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. King tries to roll over but Matsushita keeps him under control. King keeping hold of Matsushita's head, controlling as best he can. Matsushita missing with the ground and pound from half guard. King avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Matsushita. Matsushita throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. King trying to hold on to Matsushita's head to control him but Matsushita postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Matsushita is trying to control. King wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Matsushita throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing King to regain full guard. Matsushita trying to control but King is working from the bottom. King is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. King working a defensive guard here.
Matsushita wants to control from the top but King keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenji Matsushita showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Matsushita leaves King with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. King is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Matsushita throws a head kick that misses. Matsushita throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Matsushita stuns King with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. King takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it. Matsushita lands with a nice body punch. Matsushita motions for King to come forward. Matsushita throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Matsushita displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from King. Matsushita finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round. Matsushita connects with a leg kick. King looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Matsushita throws a solid leg kick but King takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Matsushita. Matsushita finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Matsushita throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Matsushita as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kong King. That's going to take a lot out of him. King checks the leg kick nicely there.
King misses with a takedown attempt - Matsushita sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Matsushita feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Matsushita sitting in guard, not really doing much. Matsushita throwing strikes from guard but King blocks nicely.

Matsushita passes easily into side control. Nice work. King is trying to buck Matsushita off. Matsushita grinds an elbow into King's temple. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. King takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. King is working to avoid the ground and pound but Matsushita connects with a decent elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Matsushita in side control, throwing shots but King defends. Matsushita scores with punches from side control. Matsushita controlling the position. King manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Matsushita is pressing down on King's thigh, looking to free his foot. King is holding on for now. Matsushita thows a huge punch but King dodges it nicely.
King is looking to control Matsushita's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can King avoid being mounted? Matsushita is controlling the pace.
Kong King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Matsushita is keen to just control but King is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. King wants to control but Matsushita is keeping busy and won't allow it. Matsushita drops an elbow to the side of King's head. Nice strikes from Matsushita there. King is refusing to be controlled, as Matsushita sits in half guard. King is trying to maintain the position but Matsushita is very close to passing his half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Kenji Matsushita is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Well, if Matsushita is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
And that's the end of the fight! Kenji Matsushita comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Matsushita has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
