The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oms cracks Overeem with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Overeem looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Oms finish him?
Overeem is rocked!
It looks like Ali Overeem has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A shot to the body from Overeem misses and Oms rattles Overeem with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Overeem tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Oms dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Overeem stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Om Oms! Om Oms decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
