Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Garvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garvey comes to the cage accompanied by One Loaf of Bread -- Damian Marley. Miller has chosen Michael Jackson's Thriller as his entrance music. Damian Miller told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Garvey manages to avoid it.
Garvey tries a head kick but it misses.
A nice inside leg kick there by Miller. That's going to slow Garvey down.
Garvey buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Miller lands a glancing blow to the side of Garvey's head.

Garvey throws the left hand but Miller avoids the punch easily.

Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garvey swivels and escapes.
Garvey uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Miller.

Garvey feints and then cracks Miller's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Miller down.

Garvey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Miller throws a shot from downtown. Garvey moves away and avoids it.
A left and a right from Miller both land. Nice combination.
Garvey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Miller moves away.
Garvey uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Miller.
Miller walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Garvey is looking to clinch but Miller is avoiding it.

Miller scores with a hook to the body. Garvey takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Miller throws a nice looking combination but Garvey bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Garvey throws a sloppy head kick and Miller moves out of range easily.
Miller lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Miller takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Miller throws a left and a right that both miss
and Garvey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Miller thows a body shot but no joy.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Garvey checks a leg kick.
Miller throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Garvey counters with a nice body kick.

Garvey ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Garvey slips a straight right by Miller.
Garvey cracks Miller with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Garvey throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Miller misses with a shot to the body
and Garvey counters with a thumping low kick.
No joy there for Garvey, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Garvey is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Garvey steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Miller.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Garvey displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Miller throws out the jab.

and Garvey counters with a left and a right that stings Miller.

Miller is still on wobbly legs! Can Garvey finish him?
Garvey lands a lovely overhand right.
Miller gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Garvey gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Miller is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marcus Garvey!
After winning the bout, Marcus Garvey thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
