PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guy Owen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Norman Hartnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Owen comes to the cage accompanied by Red Hot Chili Peppers - Can't Stop. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hartnell throws a series of punches but Owen avoids them all with ease.
Hartnell throws out a powerful jab.
Owen connects with a crisp jab.

It looks like Norman Hartnell has been cut.

and Hartnell holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Owen has Hartnell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Hartnell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Hartnell tries for a takedown but Owen manages to get underhooks.

Hartnell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Owen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Owen creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hartnell sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Owen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hartnell, who protects the arm well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Owen is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hartnell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Horrible takedown by Owen or perhaps it was just good defense by Hartnell which made him look bad.
