Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John McLachlan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antti Silava (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McLachlan comes to the cage accompanied by Funeral For a Friend - 'History'. Antti Silava has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John McLachlan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Antti Silava! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Anni Minnemäki.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A slapping leg kick lands for Silava.
Silava lands with a nice body kick. Silava throws a quick inside leg kick. Silava fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt McLachlan. Silava throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Silava, right into the meat.
Silava throws a head kick that misses. Silava throws a head kick that McLachlan semi-blocks.
Antti Silava seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A head kick from Silava lands but McLachlan takes it in his stride. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Silava lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Silava throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by McLachlan. Silava lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Silava gets caught napping as McLachlan dives in and scores a takedown. Silava manages to retain guard. McLachlan sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLachlan working some strikes from top position. Silava can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as McLachlan controls the pace. McLachlan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silava for as long as he can get away with. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silava working a defensive guard but McLachlan manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silava is trying to escape the position but McLachlan is controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McLachlan working the head with strikes. McLachlan working the ground and pound from side control. McLachlan controlling from side mount. McLachlan moves into full mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. McLachlan content just to control the position here. McLachlan scoring with strikes but Silava is staying in there. McLachlan punishing his opponent with strikes. McLachlan has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McLachlan connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McLachlan landing strikes from the mount and Silava is in trouble! McLachlan controlling his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John McLachlan dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Nice defenses there by Silava. McLachlan misses with a wild body shot. Silava throws a front kick that sends McLachlan stumbling back into the cage. McLachlan scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Silava trying to remain calm as McLachlan controls from the top position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silava takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. McLachlan throws a strike aimed at the side of Silava's head but Silava avoids it well. McLachlan landing a few strikes. McLachlan working the head with strikes. McLachlan in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. McLachlan controls the position from side control. Silava really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McLachlan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Silava wants to control but McLachlan postures up. McLachlan controls the position from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McLachlan has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. John McLachlan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. This has been an exciting period of action! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because John McLachlan wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Silava lands with a slapping head kick. Silava connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Silava throws a quick inside leg kick. Silava fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Silava connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Antti Silava seems to be getting the better of the standup. McLachlan on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Silava. Silava obviously looking to wear him down.
Antti Silava is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. McLachlan throws a lazy uppercut
and Silava holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Silava effectively controlling the action here. Silava with an attempt at a knee that misses.
McLachlan is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silava tries to stall but McLachlan uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Silava creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through McLachlan's defenses. Silava connects with a nasty looking knee right to McLachlan's face.

McLachlan is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Silava is keeping busy. Good anti-grappling being displayed by McLachlan as Silava tries to tie him up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Silava tries to land a knee to the head but McLachlan blocks with his arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Antti Silava will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Silava connects with a high kick. Silava is looking to slow McLachlan down with leg kicks. McLachlan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Silava connects with a leg kick. McLachlan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Silava feints and then cracks McLachlan's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McLachlan down. Silava thumps McLachlan with a low kick. Silava scores with a leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McLachlan looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. McLachlan throws a jab but it's blocked by Silava. A shot to the body from Silava misses and McLachlan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silava's guard now. Silava can't keep his opponent in guard - McLachlan advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
That's one minute gone in the round. McLachlan trying to control the pace. Silava trying to hold on to McLachlan's head to control him but McLachlan postures up.

That's two minutes gone in the round. McLachlan is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Silava! McLachlan with shots to the head and body - Silava looks very uncomfortable down there. McLachlan raining down hammerfists from mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, McLachlan cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McLachlan cracks Silava with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. McLachlan postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Silava looks a forlorn figure.
McLachlan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! John McLachlan showed his dominance in that final round. I think McLachlan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
