PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derka Derka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sherif Fathy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherif Fathy told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fathy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

It looks like Derka Derka has been cut.
Derka fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fathy is out of range.
Derka misses with a low kick.
Fathy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Derka.
Fathy throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Derka goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fathy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Derka attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Derka stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Fathy.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Fathy rushes Derka and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Derka can't get the takedown.

Derka has Fathy pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Fathy manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Derka is trying to drag Fathy to the mat but Fathy just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derka Derka. That's going to take a lot out of him.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Fathy.
Derka tries to score a body lock takedown but Fathy shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Fathy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Derka lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Fathy throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
That kick from Fathy tenderised Derka's leg. Derka is trying to keep his angry face on.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Derka throws a solid leg kick but Fathy takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Derka.

Fathy lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

Derka Derka's cut is getting worse.

Derka wants to land a leg kick but Fathy is out of range.
Derka closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Derka is rocked!
Derka throws out a loose jab but Fathy uses good head movement to avoid it.
A nice inside leg kick there by Fathy. That's going to slow Derka down.
Fathy lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Derka is breathing heavily.

Fathy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Derka, pushing him back against the cage.

Fathy misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Derka.

Oh Derka is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fathy lands a big knee to the head and Derka goes down! Fathy pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
