PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Dove (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kalvin Abrum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Abrum has chosen Leave Home as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Kalvin Abrum will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Dove!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Kalvin Abrum!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Sam Margolis and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dove shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Abrum counters with a two punch combo.

Dove is nestled in close to Abrum, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Dove takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Dove connects with a nice short shot to Abrum's temple.

Dove wants to work for an arm triangle but Abrum is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Gary Dove.

Kalvin Abrum has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dove pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Dove tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abrum sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dove somewhat.

Dove shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dove was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Abrum parries the strikes from Dove easily there. Dove is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Abrum to escape.

Dove tries to advance to mount but Abrum instead regains half guard.

Abrum kicks Dove off and gets back to his feet.

Well Dove has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
