Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Foreman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alan Issacs! The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Issacs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Foreman is fending him off so far but Issacs persists. Nope, Foreman circles away and we're back to standing. Issacs misses with a takedown attempt - Foreman sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Foreman tries for a takedown but Issacs circles away easily so Issacs counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Issacs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Foreman's guard. Issacs wants to work for an arm triangle but Foreman is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Foreman wants to control but Issacs is keeping busy and won't allow it. Foreman wants to improve his position but Issacs is controlling well.
Foreman wants to get back to his feet. Foreman looking for submissions off his back. Foreman trying to hold on to Issacs's head to control him but Issacs postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Foreman lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Foreman connects with the punch. Foreman rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Issacs moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Issacs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Foreman wants to improve his position but Issacs is controlling well.
Issacs wants to pass the guard but Foreman is defending well. Foreman is trying to get back to full guard. Issacs seems to be looking for submissions.
Issacs looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Issacs is working for a kimura but Foreman is defending it quite comfortably.
Foreman is trying to control but can't.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. A head kick misses from Foreman. Foreman shoots in but no luck this time. Foreman wants to clinch up but Issacs keeps it at a distance. Issacs blocks a head kick by Foreman.
Foreman scores with a one two! Issacs had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Foreman throws a series of punches but Issacs moves out of range. Jab, jab by Foreman - just one landing. Foreman misses with a few strikes there.
Foreman stalks Issacs and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Issacs's face. Issacs staggers backwards, shaken. Issacs has his takedown stuffed and Foreman counters with a left to the body. George Foreman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alan Issacs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Issacs closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Issacs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Foreman! Issacs swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
