Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flavio Shunsal! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Mauricio Rocha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Markson or perhaps it was just good defense by Shunsal which made him look bad. Markson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Markson is working for a submission of some sort.
Markson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Markson is working for a submission of some sort.
Shunsal holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now. Shunsal is looking to control Markson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shunsal avoid being mounted? Markson trying to mount his opponent but Shunsal defends it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shunsal slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Markson pushing down on Shunsal's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Shunsal is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Markson is trying to work for a kimura but Shunsal is defending well.
Markson is breathing heavily. Markson tries to pass the half guard into mount. Shunsal knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Markson prevents Shunsal from improving his position. Shunsal moves into full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Markson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Shunsal is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Shunsal has escaped and now he's on top! Shunsal really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Markson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Markson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Shunsal passes into half guard.
Shunsal is controlling the pace.
Markson wants to improve his position but Shunsal is controlling well.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Shunsal prevents Markson from improving his position. Markson regains full guard. Nicely done. Markson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Shunsal avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shunsal sitting in guard, not really doing much. Shunsal must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Markson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Shunsal is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Markson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Shunsal's back instead. Markson looking for the RNC. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Shunsal tries to escape but Markson has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Shunsal showing good submission defense here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Markson working for a choke but Shunsal is defending well. Shunsal is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Shunsal turns into Markson and is now in his guard.
Markson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shunsal can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Shunsal is sitting in close to Markson's body. Markson has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Shunsal is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Shunsal is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Markson.
