PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Kerby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gregory Kerby was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ray Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gregory Kerby!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerby misses with an uppercut. Lewis saw that one coming.
Lewis fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lewis slips a jab from Kerby.
Lewis swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed right hand from Lewis misses the target.
Lewis throws a combination that misses
and Kerby counters with a stiff right hand.
Lewis throws a right hand that Kerby ducks under and follows up with a left that Kerby also avoids with ease.
Lewis misses with a body shot.
Kerby ducks under a wild hook from Lewis.
Lewis thows a body shot but no joy.
Lewis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lewis throws a hook to the side of Kerby's head but Kerby sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lewis throws a right and a left that Kerby avoids nicely.
Lewis walks into a stiff left hand from Kerby.
Kerby has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Lewis finds it's way round the side to connect with Kerby's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Kerby counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kerby.
Lewis is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Kerby's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Kerby breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kerby fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lewis on the side of the head.
Kerby throws out a powerful jab.

and Kerby counters with a nice uppercut.

It looks like Gregory Kerby has been cut.
Lewis takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kerby takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ray Lewis will probably get the nod.

Kerby is still on wobbly legs! Can Lewis finish him?
The fighters circling - Lewis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kerby throws a hook but Lewis blocks it.
Kerby seems to have recovered his senses.

Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kerby swats him away and circles back towards the center.
