Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mikey Darker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Hosker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikey Darker could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Dave Hosker's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mikey Darker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Hosker!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hosker moves into the clinch.
Hosker wants to get back to striking at distance but Darker won't allow it.
Darker lands with a short shot to the head.
Darker stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Hosker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Darker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Darker looks for a takedown but Hosker sprawls well.
Hosker misses with a series of wild punches.
Dave Hosker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Darker misses the shot to the body.

Darker fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hosker, pushing him back against the cage.

Darker jumps guard and drags Hosker to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Darker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hosker's guard.
Hosker wants to stand but Darker is controlling the position.
Darker showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Darker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Darker stays in close to Hosker's body and controls the position.
Darker missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Darker slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mikey Darker wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Hosker keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Hosker pushes Darker up against the cage in a clinch.

Darker has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hosker uses from the top position.
Hosker tries to stand but Darker is controlling from the bottom.

Darker has his foot on Hosker's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hosker works his way back into a safe position though.

Hosker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Hosker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Darker, up you get!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hosker tries to keep at a distance but Darker has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hosker throws an elbow but it misses.

Hosker jumps guard.
Darker stays in close to Hosker's body and controls the position.
Darker throws a big elbow that misses.
Hosker being controlled here, momentarily.

Darker decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Darker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hosker tries to avoid it but Darker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hosker to the ground. Hosker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikey Darker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hosker works over Darker's head and body with a nice combination.
The crowd cheers as Darker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Hosker doesn't seem phased though.
Hosker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Darker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hosker scrambles back to his feet.
Darker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hosker sprawls well. Hosker wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Darker gets slowly back to his feet.

Darker is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hosker's half guard.
Darker is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Darker passes the guard and advances to mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Darker throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hosker tries to land a body kick
and Hosker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Darker lands with a kick to the temple. Hosker shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Darker is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hosker.


It looks like Mikey Darker has been cut.

Hosker gets the takedown into side control.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Darker is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Darker moves into full guard.
Hosker has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Darker is proving hard to escape from.
Darker lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hosker!

Hosker is breathing heavily.

Darker throws some wild stikes that Hosker manages to avoid easily.
Darker sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Darker misses with a head shot.

Darker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hosker avoids a series of strikes thrown by Darker.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darker throws some wild stikes that Hosker manages to avoid easily.

Darker looking for a guillotine from mount but Hosker is having none of it.
Darker thowing shots but they're missing.
Hosker really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Darker. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hosker tries to reverse the position but Darker maintains control.

Darker sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Darker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Darker throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Darker throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hosker because Darker loaded up on that one.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Darker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Hosker scores with a takedown into Darker's guard.

Darker has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hosker can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Darker doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Darker is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Darker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nice takedown defense from Hosker. No joy for Darker on that attempt.

Hosker lands a front kick.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hosker lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Darker throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Hosker throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hosker throws a head kick but Darker moves out of range.
Darker has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mikey Darker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hosker throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Darker counters with a head kick. That will keep Hosker thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Dave Hosker seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Darker moves into range and clinches up with Hosker.

Darker manages to pull guard.
Darker bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hosker's guard.

Darker gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hosker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Darker throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Darker needs to keep his hands up - Hosker had a free shot at his head there.

Hosker clinches up against the cage.
Hosker is trying to break free.
Darker has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hosker after a bit of a struggle.

Darker pulls Hosker into guard.
Hosker wanted to stand there but Darker had control of the position.
Darker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hosker is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hosker is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Poor strikes thrown by Darker there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Darker tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Dave Hosker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Darker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
