Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Shipman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Shipman! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shipman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away. Shipman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Shipman moves away. Shipman moves out of range of the body kick from Jones.
Mark Shipman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Shipman tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range. Shipman misses with a two punch combination.
Jones circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight moves into the clinch position. Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shipman after a bit of a struggle. Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones looks for a takedown but Shipman sprawls well. Shipman tries to clinch up. Jones takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shipman as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Shipman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Jones fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shipman closes the distance looking to clinch and Jones counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Jones. Shipman tries to circle away but Jones has him pinned against the cage. Shipman wants to break free but Jones has control.
Jones stalling.
Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. A punch combination from Shipman misses. Shipman wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Jones throws a looping overhand right but Shipman ducks down to avoid it. Shipman fails in his attempt to clinch. Shipman doesn't manage to clinch there - Jones circles away.
Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shipman is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Jones is breathing heavily. Jones is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shipman pushes Jones off looking to stand but Jones dives back in and keeps control.
This has been an exciting period of action! Jones wants to pass to mount but Shipman is defending the position. Shipman is trying to stand back up but Jones is controlling him
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Shipman is refusing to be controlled, as Jones sits in half guard. Shipman is looking to escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones not doing much here.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jon Jones wasn't doing enough on the ground. Shipman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jones looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Shipman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Shipman is looking to clinch. Shipman lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Jones takes a body punch but keeps moving. Jones circles away from the clinch attempt and Jones counters with a one-two to the body. Jones fails with the takedown. Shipman throws a one two combo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Shipman is looking to clinch. Shipman throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Jones. Shipman tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jones swats him away and circles back towards the center. Shipman tries to keep at a distance but Jones has taken the fight into the clinch. Shipman wants to get back to striking at distance but Jones won't allow it.
Jones just leaning against Shipman, taking a breather. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Shipman regains guard immediately. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Jones won't allow Shipman to get back to his feet. Shipman is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jon Jones will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Shipman lands a jab. Shipman wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Shipman misses with a combination
and Jones counters with a takedown into side control. Jones prevents Shipman from escaping the position. Jones is working Shipman over with some ground and pound from side control. Shipman tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops. Jones is looking to control Shipman but Shipman is wriggling around and keeping busy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shipman is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones punishes Shipman with strikes from the back mount. Jones biding his time, looking for the opening.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Jones trying to control momentarily.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Shipman is squirming around looking to escape but he's just wriggling himself into more trouble. Jones sinks in the hooks and manages to tighten his grip on a rear naked choke. Shipman has no choice but to tap and Jones jumps to his feet to celebrate and slick submission win!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Jon Jones!
