Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Butch James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josito Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Butch James! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Josito Lopez! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lopez tries to clinch there but James circles away.
James fails with the takedown. James tries to clinch there but Lopez circles away.
Lopez takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Lopez clinches up against the cage. James landing knees to the head.
Lopez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Lopez looking for a guillotine here but James defends easily.
Lopez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Lopez thows a huge punch but James dodges it nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez wants to take a breather but James is having none of it. Lopez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Lopez moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from James.
Lopez is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. James really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lopez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. James tries to buck Lopez off but Lopez is having none of it. James can't do much from the bottom here. Lopez is looking to take a break and control but James is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Lopez throws an elbow but James slips to the side and avoids it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lopez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Lopez decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Lopez gets tackled into the cage by James. James maintains the clinch. James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Lopez takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. James tries to clinch but fails miserably and Lopez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Lopez goes for a takedown attempt but James pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
James looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Lopez tries to close the distance and clinch but James swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lopez as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lopez fails to land the takedown. Lopez clinches with his opponent.
Lopez jumps guard and drags James to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. James throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Lopez trying to control the position.
Lopez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him. James throwing strikes from guard but Lopez blocks nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. James throws an elbow that misses. Lopez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in James's guard. Nice move by Lopez! James has Lopez pulled in close to control his posture. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josito Lopez dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
James tries to sprawl but Lopez drives through with a takedown into half guard. Lopez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Lopez is trying to control the action in half guard but James is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lopez takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. James wants to improve his position but Lopez is controlling well.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but James manages to avoid the submission attempt. James is letting Lopez control him for a moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lopez decides to stand up, so the ref orders James to his feet. James cracks a nice hook into Lopez's ribs. James moves into range and clinches up with Lopez. James jumps guard but Lopez turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. James tries to pull guard but Lopez holds him up against the cage and eventually James drops back down to his feet.

James lands a good knee to the midsection. Lopez won't want to take too many of those. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lopez walks away with a smile on his face. James gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Butch James. That's going to take a lot out of him. James shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lopez as he avoids it easily. Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by James.
Lopez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but James swivels and escapes. James stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and James wants it to stay on the feet. James circles away from the clinch attempt.
James tries to clinch but Lopez moves out of range. Lopez stuffs the takedown attempt from James. James gets slowly back to his feet. Lopez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lopez off to one side. Lopez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. James defends it nicely. James misses with a double jab.
That's four minutes gone in the round. James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Lopez moves into range and clinches up with James. James wants to break free but Lopez has control.
Lopez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. James smiles and moves away.
An inside leg kick from James misses. Lopez drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lopez sitting in guard here, content to control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lopez trying to control the position from guard on top but James is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Josito Lopez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Lopez tries to pull guard but James forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Lopez keeps the fight in the clinch, despite James's efforts to push away. Knees in the clinch landing for James.
Lopez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Butch James has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josito Lopez. James tries to circle away but Lopez has him pinned against the cage. James is trying to pull guard but Lopez has him pressed against the cage. Lopez is trying to force a seperation but James has the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lopez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
James tries to clinch up but Lopez circles away and keeps his distance. Lopez fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away. Lopez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. James gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Lopez to score an easy takedown into full guard. James is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. James trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

Lopez controlling from the top position. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. James keeping full guard, as Lopez tries to pass.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Josito Lopez was stalling too much, according to the referee. James misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
James tries for a takedown but Lopez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. James misses with the combination.
Lopez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by James. Lopez changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Lopez taking a breather here. Lopez in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. James is not content to let Lopez control the position. Lopez stands up and beckons James to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Lopez. James is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Lopez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! James tries to roll over but Lopez keeps him under control. Butch James has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Josito Lopez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lopez keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
And that's the end of the fight! Josito Lopez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Lopez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
