Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mayuri Tatsuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryfus Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatsuki kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Norther - Released. Kelly has chosen Spaceboy as his entrance music. Ryfus Kelly has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Mayuri Tatsuki! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ryfus Kelly! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kelly takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Kelly misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kelly misses with a low kick. Ryfus Kelly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheers as Tatsuki lands an impressive looking overhand right. Kelly doesn't seem phased though. Kelly is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Tatsuki. Tatsuki lands a body shot.
Kelly checks a leg kick nicely. Kelly takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Tatsuki keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Tatsuki throws a low kick but Kelly moves out of range easily. Kelly lands with a nice body kick. Tatsuki tries to bum rush Kelly with a series of wild strikes but Kelly uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kelly - that will leave a mark!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tatsuki misses with a lunging right hand
and Kelly counters with a stiff right hand. Kelly scores with a jab to the body. Kelly fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Tatsuki has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage. Kelly scores with the left hand. Tatsuki knows he should have avoided that one. Tatsuki will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tatsuki tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Kelly is able to avoid easily. Kelly misses with a hook. Kelly throws a leg kick but Tatsuki sees it coming and moves out of range. Kelly misses with a body shot.
Kelly blocks a head kick by Tatsuki.
Good leg kick by Kelly there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Tatsuki avoids a kick to the body.
Kelly throws a low kick but Tatsuki moves out of range easily. Kelly throws a leg kick but Tatsuki sees it coming and moves out of range. Kelly takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Kelly shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kelly showed some decent athleticism there. Tatsuki tries to roll over but Kelly keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kelly is trying to control. Tatsuki wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Kelly not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Tatsuki gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Tatsuki had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kelly defends it easily. Kelly wants to control from the top but Tatsuki keeps moving. Tatsuki throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Kelly looking to sit in guard and control but Tatsuki gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Kelly tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tatsuki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Tatsuki throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kelly works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Tatsuki wants to control from the top but Kelly keeps moving. Kelly wants to sweep here but Tatsuki controlling him for the moment. Tatsuki chips away with some ground and pound. Kelly is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Tatsuki working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kelly's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kelly not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kelly is on top in guard.
Tatsuki keeping moving, preventing Kelly from controlling successfully. Tatsuki controls Kelly momentarily but Kelly frees himself. Tatsuki looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Tatsuki has an active guard here but Kelly has managed to pass into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Kelly throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Tatsuki wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ryfus Kelly will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Tatsuki tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kelly sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tatsuki somewhat. Tatsuki tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kelly was well out of range. Poor timing from Tatsuki. Kelly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tatsuki. A solid leg kick lands there for Kelly.
Tatsuki throws a leg kick but Kelly moved away. Ryfus Kelly seems to be getting the better of the standup. Kelly has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tatsuki. Kelly fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kelly shoots in for a takedown but Tatsuki shows good takedown defense. The fighters circle momentarily. Kelly darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Kelly gets in close and instigates a clinch. Tatsuki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kelly misses with a low kick as Tatsuki jumps back. Kelly tries a head kick but it misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tatsuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kelly but Kelly pushes him off and we're back to square one. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mayuri Tatsuki. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kelly bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kelly wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tatsuki keeps working. Tatsuki sneaks back into half guard. Kelly trying to control the action but Tatsuki is working from the bottom. Tatsuki gets back to full guard.
Tatsuki has his foot on Kelly's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kelly works his way back into a safe position though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Tatsuki is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Kelly rolls with it to try and escape but Tatsuki cranks on the arm and Kelly is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mayuri Tatsuki! Mayuri Tatsuki retains his lightweight title! In his post fight interview, Mayuri Tatsuki started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
