Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
28 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dean Martin ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davy Crockett! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Martin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Crockett. A looping hook to the body misses from Crockett. Martin does a little dance to reset his feet. Davy Crockett seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Crockett looks to land a combination but Martin avoids it well. Crockett swinging wildly here.
Crockett throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Martin moves out of range as Crockett strikes. Martin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Crockett.
Martin shoots in and bounces Crockett off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Crockett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Martin defends it easily. Crockett looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Martin passes into side control.
Martin cracks Crockett with a big right hand but Crockett just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Martin working away. Martin lands a decent elbow from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crockett is positioning himself to get back to half guard. You can see the frustration on Crockett's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Crockett tries to escape but Martin is in control. Crockett gets back to half guard. Martin landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Crockett looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Martin is pressing down on Crockett's thigh, looking to free his foot. Crockett is holding on for now. Martin slows the pace down in half guard. Martin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Crockett with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Crockett is not content to let Martin control the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crockett moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Martin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Martin trying to control but Crockett is working from the bottom. Martin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Crockett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Martin has managed to get both his arms back between Crockett's legs - danger averted. Martin has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Crockett is trying to keep Martin in close.
Crockett is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Martin dives into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin cracks Crockett with a big elbow. Martin scores with a couple of short elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Crockett is trying to control Martin 's posture but Martin avoids it. Crockett tries to improve position but can't. Crockett stops Martin from passing to mount. Martin scores with a couple of short elbows. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Martin wants to control but Crockett is keeping him busy. Martin landing a few strikes. Crockett is looking to regain half guard here but Martin keeps moving and retains side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Crockett struggling a bit here. Crockett gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Martin is looking to take a break and control but Crockett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Crockett actively working from the bottom here. Crockett has his hands clasped together around Martin 's back. He's all about the action. Crockett trying to hold on to Martin 's head to control him but Martin postures up.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Crockett is looking to improve his position.

Crockett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Martin swats him away and circles back towards the center. Martin shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Crockett rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
so Martin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Martin wants to control from the top but Crockett keeps moving. Martin won't allow Crockett to get back to his feet. Martin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crockett is keeping the position for now. Crockett looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Martin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Martin taking a breather here. Martin cracks Crockett with a big right hand but Crockett just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Martin is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Crockett looking for submissions off his back. Martin wants to take a breather but Crockett is having none of it. Martin working over Crockett with some ground and pound. Crockett looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Martin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Crockett won't allow Martin to pass to mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Crockett has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Martin escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Martin ! Martin landing a few strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crockett wants to control but Martin postures up. Martin tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Crockett taking a bit of punishment here - Martin scoring with strikes. Crockett manages to work his way to half guard, despite Martin 's best efforts. Crockett wants to get back to his feet.
Crockett is in trouble now - Martin has advanced to mount! Martin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Crockett can't escape the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Martin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Crockett is rocked! Martin lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Crockett! Martin sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Crockett and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!
