Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Leeroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amazing Sam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sam wants to clinch.
Leeroy rushes Sam and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Leeroy pulls guard effortlessly.
Sam trying to control but Leeroy is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leeroy looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sam won't allow Leeroy to get back to his feet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Sam has managed to clinch.

Sam tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leeroy paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

and Leeroy counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Leeroy tries to clinch but Sam moves out of range.
Leeroy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Leeroy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sam lands with a kick to the temple. Leeroy shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Sam scores with a jab.
Sam throws a looping overhand right but Leeroy ducks down to avoid it.
Leeroy shoots in and bounces Sam off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sam shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Leeroy as he jumps to the side.
Leeroy fails with the takedown.
Sam wants to clinch.
Leeroy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Leeroy is fighting to break Sam's control of his arms but Sam is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Leeroy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sam works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Sam is trying to keep Leeroy in close.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sam is pulling down on Leeroy's head to control his posture.

Leeroy controlling from the top position.
Sam wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Leeroy manages to pass to side control.

Leeroy looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Leeroy sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Sam defending well though.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Leeroy connects with a nice short shot to Sam's temple.
Sam tries to get to full guard but Leeroy has control of the leg.
Leeroy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sam's head.
Leeroy is nestled in close to Sam, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Leeroy drops an elbow to the side of Sam's head.
Leeroy is controlling the pace.

Leeroy slows the pace down in half guard.
Leeroy has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sam is trying to get back to full guard.
Leeroy wants to pass the guard but Sam is defending well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sam has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Leeroy is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Leeroy in particular looking to stall.
Leeroy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Leeroy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Sam throws a right and a left that both miss.
Leeroy fails with the takedown.
A jab lands there for Sam.
Sam misses with a takedown attempt
and Leeroy counters with an inside leg kick.
Leeroy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sam tries to avoid it but Leeroy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sam to the ground. Sam escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Leeroy counters with a good low kick that Sam was not able to check.
Sam is looking to clinch.
Leeroy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Leeroy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Sam takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Leeroy seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sam for as long as he can get away with.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Bruce Leeroy just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Sam shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Leeroy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Leeroy works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Leeroy goes for a takedown attempt but Sam pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Sam swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Leeroy counters by clinching up.

Amazing Sam has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sam has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Leeroy is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Sam can't break the clinch.
Leeroy tries to land knees in the clinch but Sam avoids the damage to the body.
Leeroy is working for takedown but Sam is calmly controlling the position for now.
Sam unloads a knee to the mid-section. Leeroy lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Sam is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Leeroy is keeping busy.
Sam breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sam fails in his attempt to clinch.
Leeroy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sam pinned against the cage. Sam gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No luck for Leeroy with that takedown attempt.

Sam pushes Leeroy up against the cage in a clinch.
Sam looking to throw knees to the head but Leeroy is blocking nicely.

Sam ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sam no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Sam can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Leeroy controls the pace.

Sam is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Leeroy shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sam's guard.
Sam is looking for a triangle but Leeroy pushes his legs off easily.
Sam is pulling down on Leeroy's head. It's preventing any offense from Leeroy, at least for the moment.
Sam looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bruce Leeroy.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Leeroy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
