The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Columbo Gatti and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aliyev throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Piotrowski's waist but Piotrowski gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aliyev off to one side.
Aliyev on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Piotrowski lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

and Piotrowski takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Aliyev tries to score a power double leg takedown but Piotrowski sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Aliyev somewhat.

Aliyev bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Piotrowski is trying to break the clinch but Aliyev has him pressed against the cage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Piotrowski looks to land a combination but Aliyev avoids it well.
Aliyev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Piotrowski circles away quickly and effectively.
Aliyev with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Piotrowski to score with a decent uppercut.
Piotrowski throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Aliyev throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Aliyev shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Piotrowski napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Aliyev has hold of Piotrowski's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Piotrowski seems comfortable defending it but Aliyev has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Piotrowski is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Piotrowski is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Aliyev couldn't care less - he's delighted!
