Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Barzakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franco Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alexander Barzakov could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Franco Valdez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alexander Barzakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franco Valdez!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barzakov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Barzakov is keen to just control but Valdez is a slippery customer.
Valdez throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valdez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Barzakov can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Valdez has control of Barzakov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Barzakov regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Valdez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Valdez had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Barzakov is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Valdez Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Barzakov's back instead.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!
