The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powell shoots in but no luck this time. Powell closes the distance and pushes Rommel back into the cage. Powell can't get the takedown.
Powell wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Powell . That's going to take a lot out of him. Powell pulls guard successfully.
Rommel thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Rommel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Rommel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Rommel drops back looking for a leg! Powell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Powell manages to kick Rommel off! Rommel jumps back into Powell 's guard. Powell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rommel is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Powell tries to get out of the position. Rommel drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Powell manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rommel has Powell in his guard. Rommel looking for a triangle here. Powell is fighting it but it looks tight! Rommel pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Powell is tapping out - this one is all over!
