Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Luke Ramsey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Neusarth Martins!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramsey closes the distance and clinches up with Martins, looking for a takedown. Ramsey pushes Martins against the cage but Martins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Martins tries to close the distance and clinch but Ramsey swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Ramsey wants to clinch.
Ramsey misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Martins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Ramsey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Martins wants to take a breather but Ramsey is having none of it.
Martins lands with a punch from half guard.

Martins is looking for a kimura here.
Ramsey is trying to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martins looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ramsey with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Ramsey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ramsey is looking to escape.
Martins trying to control from half guard but Ramsey is working away.
Martins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Martins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Nice strikes from Martins there.
Ramsey is trying to get back to full guard.

Martins seems to be working for a kimura but Ramsey defends the submission attempt.
Ramsey tries to get to full guard but Martins has control of the leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Martins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Martins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ramsey is trying to stand.
Ramsey really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Martins wants to work for an arm triangle but Ramsey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Martins tries to pass the half guard into mount. Ramsey knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Martins looks gassed!
Martins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ramsey shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Martins counters with a single leg into guard. Ramsey didn't expect that.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luke Ramsey. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Martins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramsey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Martins working some strikes from top position.
Martins scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Ramsey working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Martins.
Martins in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Martins wants to pass the guard but Ramsey is keeping the position.
Ramsey is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Martins takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ramsey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Martins looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Martins manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Martins throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Ramsey trying to hold on to Martins's head to control him but Martins postures up.
Martins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Martins lands a nice shot to the head.

Martins has isolated one of Ramsey's arms. Ramsey looking to fight him off but Martins twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
