Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Wait (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Chalas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wait comes to the cage accompanied by Times Up. Luis Chalas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stevie Wait! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Luis Chalas! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wait takes one to the chin there. Wait shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Chalas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Wait throws a head kick that misses. Wait shoots in but no luck this time. Wait looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stevie Wait. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wait looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chalas is fending him off so far but Wait persists. Nope, Chalas circles away and we're back to standing. Wait fails to land with a series of punches.
Chalas scores with a jab to the jaw. Chalas has Wait up against the cage in a clinch.
That's one minute gone in the round. Chalas lands an elbow inside. Chalas tries a body shot but Wait blocks it.
Wait is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Chalas gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Chalas wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wait has him pressed against the cage. Wait jumps guard and drags Chalas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Chalas stops Wait from standing up. Chalas won't allow Wait to sweep him here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chalas won't allow Wait to get back to his feet.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Luis Chalas hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Wait fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Wait is breathing heavily. Chalas shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wait eats them both and turns towards Chalas to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Chalas gets in close and instigates a clinch. Wait jumps guard but Chalas stands there with Wait around his waist. Wait gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Wait keeps control of Chalas as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Chalas working aggressively here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Chalas tries to circle away but Wait has him pinned against the cage. Chalas looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Chalas is trying to break free. Chalas misses with a body punch.
Wait can't get the takedown.
Chalas is looking to break free of the clinch but Wait has double underhooks. Wait jumps guard and drags Chalas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Chalas wants to get up but he can't break Wait's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Wait is adopting a defensive guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Stevie Wait just wasn't active enough. Chalas scores with a nice head shot. Wait has his takedown stuffed and Chalas counters with a shoot takedown. Wait fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chalas gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. This has been an exciting period of action! Chalas clinches up with Wait and pushes him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Luis Chalas dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Chalas jabs Wait right on the nose. Wait blinks but takes it well. Chalas misses the shot to the body. Chalas swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chalas throws a shot from downtown. Wait moves away and avoids it. Stevie Wait is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Chalas cracks Wait with an open hand slap. Wait shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Chalas napping and manages to drive through into side control! Chalas is breathing heavily. Wait working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Chalas. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Wait throwing strikes but Chalas manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control! Wait is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Chalas is controlling him well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wait is trying to control Chalas's posture but Chalas avoids it. Wait tries to control but Chalas manages to take his back. Wait tries to escape but Chalas has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Chalas doesn't have the hooks in and Wait manages to turn into his guard.
Chalas is looking to stand up but Wait isn't so interested in that idea.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chalas keeping moving, preventing Wait from controlling successfully. Wait content to stall in guard here. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Wait throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Wait is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stevie Wait just wasn't active enough. Chalas pushes Wait up against the cage in a clinch. Wait keeps control of Chalas as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Wait tries a knee to the head but Chalas blocks it.

Wait tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chalas smiles and moves away.
Wait misses with a takedown and Chalas counters with a straight right hand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Chalas fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wait, pushing him back against the cage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Stevie Wait will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Wait is looking to reverse the position. Both fighters are breathing heavily. You can see the frustration on Wait's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Wait is looking to regain half guard here but Chalas keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Chalas has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Wait shoots in looking for a takedown but Chalas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wait's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Chalas thuds a left hand into Wait's body. Wait shoots in for a takedown but Chalas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Chalas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wait circles away quickly and effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Good shot there by Chalas. Chalas loads up on a big right hand but Wait slips the punch. Chalas finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Chalas rushes Wait and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Chalas throws a punch but it's blocked by Wait. Chalas looking to throw knees to the head but Wait is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Chalas scores with a crisp jab that stopped Wait in his tracks. Chalas scores with a decent looking hook. In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Luis Chalas! A very excited looking Luis Chalas rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
