Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Handson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxwell Price (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jake Handson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Maxwell Price!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Price scores with a crisp jab that stopped Handson in his tracks.
Jake Handson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Price lands a lovely overhand right.
Price stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Price wants it to stay on the feet.
Handson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Price sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Handson somewhat.
Handson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Price counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Handson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Price sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Handson defending well though.
Nice strikes from Price there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Price not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Price throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Handson is not content to let Price control the position.
Price looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Handson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Price looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Price drops an elbow to the side of Handson's head.
Handson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Price missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Handson has hold of Price's hands but Price slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Handson is breathing heavily.
Price is nestled in close to Handson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.


Handson is rocked!
Price has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Handson misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Price seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Handson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Price lands a nice short elbow.
Handson is looking to control Price's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Handson avoid being mounted?
Price throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Price lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Handson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Handson tries to get out of the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Price looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Handson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Price scores with a couple of nice shots.
Price not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Price connects with a nice short shot to Handson's temple.
Price prevents Handson from improving his position.
Price seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Oh Handson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Handson seems to have got his legs back now.

Price is looking to take a break and control but Handson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Price slips a nice elbow through Handson's hands, connecting with Handson's forehead.
Handson is staying active underneath Price, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Price throwing shots but Handson is blocking nicely.
Price trying to control from half guard but Handson is working away.
Price lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Price landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Price seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Price lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Price works his way into full mount!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Price softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Handson is out cold! Price jumps to his feet and celebrates on the ropes with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Maxwell Price!
A very excited looking Maxwell Price made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
