Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Walters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richie Mancha! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Walters scores with a kick to the midsection. Walters goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Walters leaves Mancha with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Walters swinging wildly here.
Mancha closes the distance and clinches. Mancha controlling the action here for a moment.
Mancha gets control of Walters's arms and successfully pulls guard. Mancha will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Walters throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mancha works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Mancha looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Walters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mancha on the ground. Mancha preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Walters accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Walters trying to control the position from guard on top but Mancha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mancha holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Richie Mancha was stalling too much, according to the referee. Walters misses with a double jab.
Mancha closes the distance and clinches. Walters lands with a left to the head. Mancha wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Mancha looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Mancha trying to land knees to the body.
Mancha is trying to break the clinch but Walters is controlling him. Walters working hard to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mancha shoots for a double leg takedown but Walters sprawls well. He's pushed Mancha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Walters throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Mancha's head.

and Mancha counters by moving into the clinch. Walters keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Mancha's efforts to push away. Mancha tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Walters smiles and moves away.
Sam Walters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mancha dodges the punch combination from Walters.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Walters scores with a hook to the body. The referee is keeping an eye on Mancha - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Walters pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mancha jumps guard but Walters stands there with Mancha around his waist. Mancha gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Walters wants to stand but Mancha is controlling his posture from full guard. Mancha pulls Walters in close to prevent any damage. Walters looking to sit in guard and control but Mancha gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mancha drops back looking for a leg! Walters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walters manages to kick Mancha off! Mancha jumps back into Walters's guard. Mancha prevents Walters from getting back to his feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mancha controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Walters has an active guard here but Mancha has managed to pass into half guard.
Walters is looking to escape. Mancha sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Walters defending well though. Still in half guard, Mancha seems content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Walters pushes Mancha off looking to stand but Mancha dives back in and keeps control.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Richie Mancha wasn't active enough on the ground. A combination from Walters does no damage. Walters throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Walters lands a really nice looking cross but Mancha seems unphased.

Mancha moves into the clinch. Mancha decides to pull guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mancha manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

A close second round but Richie Mancha will probably get the nod - 10:9. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Walters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Mancha counters by clinching up. Mancha has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Walters uses from the top position. Mancha is trying to control the position but Walters postures up. Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Walters lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mancha circles away quickly and effectively.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sam Walters. I think Walters has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
