The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Down slaps away a takedown attempt from Burnett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Horrible takedown by Burnett or perhaps it was just good defense by Down which made him look bad.
Nice sprawl there from Down as Burnett shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steven Burnett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Down scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Steven Burnett has been cut.
Down looks to land a combination but Burnett avoids it well.
Burnett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Down. No joy for Burnett on that attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Down tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Burnett paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Burnett drops down looking for an ankle pick but Down pulls his leg out and moves away.
Down tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Down lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Down throws a powerful right kick. Burnett tried to block low but the kick was high! Burnett was taken right off of his feet! Down jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
