Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Geoff Sanburg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ilya On (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanburg comes into the arena with Black Sabbath - War Pigs blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Geoff Sanburg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ilya On! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! On moves away from the strike by Sanburg. On looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sanburg closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. On throws a wild combination but nothing lands. On throws a good cross that connects.
Sanburg closes the distance and clinches. Sanburg wants the takedown. On is fighting it off but Sanburg persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in On's guard against the cage. Sanburg throws a big right hand that misses. Sanburg distracts On with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. On has momentary wrist control but Sanburg slips an elbow through the middle. Sanburg controlling from the top position. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! On is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. On avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. On working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sanburg doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sanburg manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. On is working an open guard so Sanburg takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. On moves into range and connects with a jab. On falls off balance throwing a combination
and Sanburg counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. On throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A shot to the liver by On. Beautiful body shot. Ilya On seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sanburg lands with an uppercut that bounces On off the cage and back into range. On throws a right and a left that Sanburg avoids nicely. Ilya On is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Sanburg misses with a wild combination.
On misses with a few strikes there.
Sanburg shoots in and bounces On off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sanburg content to stall in guard here. Sanburg has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sanburg pushes down on On's leg and manages to get into half guard. Sanburg is sneakily working for an arm triangle but On sees it coming and defends easily. Sanburg is figuring out what he wants to do next. Ground and pound from Sanburg. Sanburg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks On with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Sanburg looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. On tries to roll over but Sanburg keeps him under control. Sanburg looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's three minutes gone in the round. On tries to get to full guard but Sanburg has control of the leg. On is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanburg pulls his head out easily. Sanburg wants to work for an arm triangle but On is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Ground and pound from Sanburg. On is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sanburg pulls his head out easily. Sanburg is trying to control the action in half guard but On is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. On has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Sanburg escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Sanburg! On looks winded! Sanburg working the body and head with strikes.
On is rocked! Sanburg is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. On is still in real trouble! Can Sanburg finish him? Sanburg tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. On seems to have recovered his senses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. On is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sanburg off and has taken his back! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! On is trying to stick to Sanburg's back but Sanburg is turning into On. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in On's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Sanburg. Sanburg chips away with some ground and pound. Sanburg wants to control from the top but On keeps moving. Sanburg makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Sanburg is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Sanburg trying to control but On is working from the bottom. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sanburg is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. On is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Geoff Sanburg dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
On misses with a looping left. Sanburg drives through with a takedown into On's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Sanburg pushes down on On's leg and manages to get into half guard. On actively working from the bottom here. Sanburg tries to pass the half guard into mount. On knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sanburg scoring with strikes to the body and head. Sanburg looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Sanburg seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. On is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
