PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Lemmy Krusic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalton Pressnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krusic comes to the cage accompanied by Lene Kosti - Warrior. Dalton Pressnell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lemmy Krusic!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 26 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dalton Pressnell!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Sergei Dronov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pressnell moves in looking to clinch but Krusic pushes him off.

Krusic shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Krusic showed some decent athleticism there.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Krusic thows a huge punch but Pressnell dodges it nicely.
Krusic is looking to take a break and control but Pressnell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Krusic takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Krusic in particular looking to stall.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Krusic wants to take a breather but Pressnell is having none of it.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Krusic connects with a nice short shot to Pressnell's temple.
Krusic thows a huge punch but Pressnell dodges it nicely.
Krusic looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pressnell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Krusic changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pressnell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pressnell tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Krusic wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Krusic has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Pressnell tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Krusic paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Pressnell lands a two punch combo.

Krusic throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Krusic looking to score a takedown here. Pressnell is defending well but Krusic drives through and ends up in Pressnell's guard.

Krusic tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Krusic has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Pressnell manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Krusic wants to control but Pressnell is keeping busy.

Krusic makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Krusic drops down looking for an ankle pick but Pressnell pulls his leg out and moves away.

Krusic won't allow Pressnell to sweep him here.
Krusic prevents Pressnell from getting back to his feet.

Pressnell looking for a guillotine here but Krusic defends easily.

Pressnell wants to stand but Krusic is controlling the position.

Pressnell had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Krusic defends it easily.

Krusic on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Krusic tries to get out of the position.
Krusic avoids a strike by Pressnell and manages to complete a very nice reversal in the process, to end up in Pressnell's guard! Fantastic escape!

Krusic seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Pressnell for as long as he can get away with.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Krusic, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
