Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Norbert Schwager! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vic Sotto! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schwager paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Sotto takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. A decent looking cross lands there for Schwager. Schwager throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sotto. Sotto connects with a looping right hand.

Schwager throws a body punch but Sotto moves out of range. Sotto uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Schwager. Schwager ducks under a wild hook from Sotto. Schwager throws a series of punches but Sotto avoids them all with ease. Schwager ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sotto moves away. Sotto dodges the punch combination from Schwager.
Schwager just misses with a punch to the body.
Norbert Schwager seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schwager ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schwager scores with the left hand. Sotto knows he should have avoided that one. Schwager fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sotto looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Schwager swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Schwager moves away from the strike by Sotto. Schwager dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Schwager will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Schwager throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sotto fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Sotto counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Schwager swings away with a body shot that misses
and Sotto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sotto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sotto misses with a straight right. Schwager pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Schwager throws a poor cross that misses
and Sotto counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Schwager thinking. Schwager takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

A telegraphed right hand from Sotto misses the target. Schwager scores with a jab to the body. Sotto misses with a shot to the body and Schwager counters with a series of strikes. Sotto will be more careful next time no doubt. Sotto ducks under a wild hook from Schwager. Sotto blocks a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sotto avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Sotto scores with a crisp jab that stopped Schwager in his tracks. Schwager misses with a jab, cross combination.
Schwager connects with a jab. Sotto misses with a straight right. Schwager scores with a jab. Schwager is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Schwager lands a two punch combo.

Sotto drops his hands momentarily and Schwager takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Schwager fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Sotto manages to avoid it. Schwager lands a right hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sotto slips a straight right by Schwager. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The crowd cheers as Sotto lands an impressive looking overhand right. Schwager doesn't seem phased though. Sotto throws a good cross that connects.
Schwager lands a head shot. Schwager wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Sotto looks to land a combination but Schwager avoids it well. Sotto might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Nice combo by Schwager! Oh, that's hurt him - Sotto falls to the canvas and Schwager follows him into side control.
Sotto is rocked! Schwager stands up and we're back to a striking position. Sotto is still on wobbly legs! Can Schwager finish him? Some wild striking there from Sotto.
A shot to the body from Sotto misses and Schwager counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Sotto to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Schwager!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Norbert Schwager! In his post fight interview, Norbert Schwager started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
