Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bloodlet Dunne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Watermelon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bloodlet Dunne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Phil Watermelon!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Watermelon drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Watermelon trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Watermelon loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Dunne is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Watermelon defends well.
Watermelon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dunne is on top in guard.
Watermelon wants to sweep here but Dunne controlling him for the moment.

Watermelon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dunne doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dunne manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dunne is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Watermelon is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Watermelon has escaped and now he's on top!

Dunne had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Watermelon defends it easily.
Watermelon in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dunne keeping moving, preventing Watermelon from controlling successfully.
Watermelon has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Watermelon drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Watermelon jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Watermelon advances position into side control!
Watermelon throws a strike aimed at the side of Dunne's head but Dunne avoids it well.
Watermelon lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Dunne down.

Watermelon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dunne is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Watermelon is looking to take a break and control but Dunne is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Watermelon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Dunne is looking for a sweep.

Watermelon has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Dunne is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Watermelon yanks on the arm and Dunne is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Watermelon.
