Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tommy Hibbert! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Lucas Reynolds! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds throws a body punch but Hibbert moves out of range. The fighters circling - Hibbert throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Reynolds is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Hibbert rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Reynolds counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Reynolds. Reynolds breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Hibbert scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Reynolds is trying to stand back up but Hibbert is controlling him
Hibbert lands with a punch from half guard. Hibbert landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Hibbert throwing shots but Reynolds is blocking nicely. Reynolds really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hibbert. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Reynolds keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Reynolds is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Hibbert scores with a couple of nice shots. Reynolds tries to kick Hibbert off but Hibbert keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hibbert connects with a nice short shot to Reynolds's temple. Reynolds pushes Hibbert off looking to stand but Hibbert dives back in and keeps control.
Hibbert throwing shots but Reynolds is blocking nicely. Hibbert lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Ground and pound from Hibbert.
Reynolds is rocked!
That's one minute gone in the round. Hibbert lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Reynolds is still in real trouble! Can Hibbert finish him? Hibbert lands a big elbow - Reynolds is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Hibbert!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tommy Hibbert!
