Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Alaniz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Wenke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alaniz comes to the cage accompanied by Slippin. Austin Wenke will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Charlie Alaniz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Austin Wenke! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wenke throws a big shot that misses. Wenke misses with an uppercut. Alaniz saw that one coming. Wenke fails with an attempt to clinch.
Alaniz manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wenke on his heels. He'll look to pass Wenke's guard now, I'm sure. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Wenke keeping moving, preventing Alaniz from controlling successfully. Alaniz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Alaniz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Alaniz landing with the ground and pound. Wenke really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alaniz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Alaniz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wenke working for a triangle but Alaniz defends it easily.

He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Alaniz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Wenke's head. Alaniz not landing any meaningful shots this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alaniz passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Wenke! Alaniz lands a heavy elbow. Alaniz working for a submission but Wenke is keeping him at bay. Alaniz looking to secure an arm triangle but Wenke defends it well. Wenke is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

It looks like Austin Wenke has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Alaniz lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Alaniz tries to control but Wenke wriggling away. Wenke is wriggling around trying to escape.
Alaniz wants to finish this one by submission but Wenke is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Alaniz.

Alaniz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Alaniz won't let Wenke get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Wenke sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Wenke is defending against the submission attempts here by Alaniz.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Alaniz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wenke defends it well. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alaniz seems to be looking for submissions.
Wenke looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Alaniz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wenke does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wenke tries to kick Alaniz off but Alaniz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Alaniz connects with a nice short shot to Wenke's temple. Wenke on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alaniz is working for a kimura but Wenke is defending it quite comfortably.
