Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacque Schtrappe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schtrappe comes to the cage accompanied by Nitzer Ebb - Violent Playground. Flare has chosen Also Sprach Zarathustra as his entrance music. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Jacque Schtrappe! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rick Flare! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schtrappe ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Flare moves away. Schtrappe tries to land a front kick but Flare steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Schtrappe throws a body punch but Flare moves out of range. Schtrappe darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Horrible takedown by Flare or perhaps it was just good defense by Schtrappe which made him look bad. Schtrappe fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Flare is defended easily by Schtrappe. Flare avoids a punch combination nicely.

It looks like Rick Flare has been cut. Schtrappe motions for Flare to come forward. Schtrappe throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Jacque Schtrappe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Flare has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Schtrappe can't do much from the bottom here. Flare is trying to ground and pound but Schtrappe uses the momentary lack of control by Flare to regain half guard. Schtrappe is looking to wear down Flare with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Flare misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Schtrappe, right into the meat.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. An inside leg kick lands from Schtrappe. Flare throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Schtrappe's waist but Schtrappe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Flare off to one side. Flare takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Schtrappe lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Schtrappe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Flare stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Schtrappe misses with a two punch combination.

Schtrappe feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Flares jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Good standup being displayed there by Schtrappe as he connects with a hook. Flare takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Schtrappe takes a swing at Flare's ribcage but misses. Schtrappe fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Flare. Flare makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Flare accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Flare scoring with punches to the head and body. Schtrappe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Flare doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Flare manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Schtrappe looking for a guillotine here but Flare defends easily.
And that's the end of the fight! Jacque Schtrappe showed his dominance in that final round. I think Schtrappe has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
