Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Babs Bloom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aristos Ioannidis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ioannidis has chosen If I Can't - 50 Cent as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aristos Ioannidis!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bloom tries to clinch
and Ioannidis counters with a right hand to the body.
Bloom walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Babs Bloom has been cut.
Bloom looks to clinch
and Ioannidis counters with a left and a right that stings Bloom.
Babs Bloom seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bloom tries to clinch but Ioannidis moves away

and Ioannidis counters with a nice double leg into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ioannidis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bloom is breathing heavily.
Bloom keeping full guard, as Ioannidis tries to pass.
Ioannidis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Ioannidis forces his way into half guard.

Ioannidis stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bloom tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Ioannidis decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bloom's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ioannidis drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ioannidis jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Ioannidis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Bloom is rocked!
Ioannidis postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Bloom covers up, he's hurt! Ioannidis keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Ioannidis and the ref steps in to end the fight! Ioannidis can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aristos Ioannidis!
A relieved looking Aristos Ioannidis thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
