PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Connor MacLeod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tomasz Drwal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacLeod comes to the cage accompanied by Battle Hymn . Drwal has chosen Nightwish Crimson Tide as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Connor MacLeod!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tomasz Drwal!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Saam Ante and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab, jab by MacLeod - just one landing.

MacLeod closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Drwal quickly recovers to half guard.
Drwal tries to get to full guard but MacLeod has control of the leg.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Drwal has a hand on MacLeod's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. MacLeod takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Drwal tries to kick MacLeod off but MacLeod keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting MacLeod here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tomasz Drwal is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Drwal will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Drwal tries to move into range but MacLeod moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tomasz Drwal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

MacLeod throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Drwal on the side of the head.

Drwal lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends MacLeod sprawling to the canvas. Drwal follows him down, looking for the kill. Can MacLeod hang on?

Drwal creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Drwal wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but MacLeod has him pressed against the cage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Drwal is staying active underneath MacLeod, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
