Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Beam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luigi Vampa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Beam could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Luigi Vampa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Beam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luigi Vampa!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Steve Erwin and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vampa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Beam sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Beam scores with a kick to the midsection.
Vampa circles away from the clinch attempt.

Vampa dives in and scores a takedown into Beam's guard.

Vampa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Vampa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Beam wants to stand and escape but Vampa is having none of it.
Vampa trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Beam manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Vampa seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Vampa wants to sweep here but Beam controlling him for the moment.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Nice takedown defense from Beam. No joy for Vampa on that attempt.

and Beam counters with a shoot takedown. Vampa fights it but they end up in guard.
Jack Beam has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luigi Vampa.
Beam is breathing heavily.

Vampa is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Beam is aware though and is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Beam tries to stand but Vampa is controlling from the bottom.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Vampa holds on and takes a little breather.
Beam has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Vampa makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vampa.

Vampa is controlling Beam's posture.

Vampa is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Beam defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vampa is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Beam wanted to stand there but Vampa had control of the position.
Beam knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vampa on the ground.

Beam will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Beam is fighting to break Vampa's control of his arms but Vampa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jack Beam just wasn't active enough.
Vampa shoots in for a double leg but Beam sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Beam tries to clinch there but Vampa circles away.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Vampa.

Vampa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Beam as he avoids it easily.
A bone on bone clash there as Vampa blocks the leg kick.

Beam clinches up against the cage.
Vampa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Beam smiles and moves away.

Vampa drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Vampa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Beam, who protects the arm well.

Vampa looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Vampa has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Beam is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Vampa yanks on the arm and Beam is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Vampa.
