Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rick Ashton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashton comes to the cage accompanied by Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Ashton.
Ashton shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Hernandez shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Left hook, right uppercut from Ashton.
Ashton shoots in for a double leg but Hernandez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Ashton drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hernandez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hernandez throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Hernandez keeping moving, preventing Ashton from controlling successfully.
Hernandez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ashton is one step ahead there.
Ashton stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hernandez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ashton trying to control but Hernandez is working from the bottom.

Ashton controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We're going to have a standup here because Rick Ashton wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ashton misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Ashton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nice takedown defense from Hernandez. No joy for Ashton on that attempt.
Hernandez throws a leg kick but Ashton sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Ashton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sloppy strikes from Ashton. Those never looked like landing.
Ashton fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Ashton cracks Hernandez with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hernandez misses with a body shot.
Ashton feints and as Hernandez raises his hands in defense, Ashton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hernandez looking for a triangle here. Ashton is fighting it but it looks tight! Hernandez pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Ashton is tapping out - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Miguel Hernandez!
