The crowd seem to be enjoying Garvey's choice of entrance music: One Loaf of Bread -- Damian Marley. Marcus Garvey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garvey motions for Alves to come forward. Garvey throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Alves scores with a jab. Garvey acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Alves clobbers Garvey with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Alves will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Garvey is on top in guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Davi Alves will probably get the nod.

The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Alves has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Alves and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
