Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tony Parts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hutch Gibson! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gibson gets a takedown into half guard. Gibson is trying to control. Parts wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Gibson lands a nice short elbow. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gibson is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Parts sees it coming and defends easily. Gibson has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Gibson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Parts is looking to control Gibson's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Parts avoid being mounted? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gibson working Parts over with strikes. Parts blocking the ground and pound attempt from Gibson. Gibson frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Gibson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Parts can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Parts is looking to improve his position but Gibson isn't that keen on the idea. Gibson working the ground and pound effectively.
It looks like Tony Parts has been cut. Parts tries to hold on but Gibson postures up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gibson landing punches.
Tony Parts's cut is getting worse. Parts is bucking up trying to escape but Gibson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Parts is rocked!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tony Parts's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Hutch Gibson!
